The recent credit crisis in the United States has definitely left its mark on the world. People taking on mortgages that they couldn’t afford were one of the main reasons for the collapse of the housing market. This is all stems from people spending money that they do not have. American Express wants you to do the same. Buy new stuff, risk free, with their new credit card!

American Express shows with its latest commercial that buying luxury items can be very easy and convenient and that nothing is less risky than buying it with your American Express credit card. In a stylish commercial American Express smoothly shows all the advantages and features of their credit card and makes a case why this is the best choice.

Credit Cards are a big problem in the United States. A recent article in the Financial Post even stated that 2.6 million Americans will use their credit cards to pay third-party processors who submit tax bills to the U.S. federal government on behalf of clients. So credit cards are now used for all kinds of purposes and are not just seen as a last resort.

The commercial doesn’t mention any of the dangers of getting a credit card and using it. This is quite strange since it is such a risky product. If you play by the rules all the mentioned benefits will come to realization, but the reality shows that this is often not the case. American Express even tells you to don’t take chances and take charge with their credit card. It is pretty ironic to tell someone to don’t take chances with credit cards by choosing for your credit card.
